Divine Chess Gurukul is forming a team to compete in the Japan Team Chess Championship, organised by the Japan Chess Federation (JCF). We enter the Competitive Mixed category, open to players of all ages.
Dates: 10-11 October 2026
Venue: Shinagawa Ward General Kumin Hall "Curian", 5-18-1 Higashi-Oi, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo - 2 minutes from Oimachi Station.
Format: 6-round Swiss, 30 minutes + 30 seconds per move, National Standard Rated.
Sections: Open (Competitive Mixed) and Group A (Av. Rating < 1400).
Team composition: 4 or 5 players plus 1 captain.
Group A - Average rating of top 4 players < 1400. Unrated players are assumed to have a rating of 1000.
Entry Fees
One flat per-player fee for everyone (covers tournament fee, Gurukul admin fee, and transaction cost).
Competitive Mixed Team (Open): ¥7,500 per player.
Group A Team: ¥7,500 per player.

Board Order & Match Day
A few important points for every player and captain.
Confirm your board order with the tournament's chief arbiter before each round begins.
Round pairings are posted by the Japan Chess Federation approximately 30 minutes before each round, with results updated continuously.
Never change seats once a round has started.

RESOLVED 2026-09-11: single flat fee for all players, ¥7,500 per player (Competitive Mixed and Group A alike), covering tournament fee, Gurukul admin fee, and transaction cost. Group A is age-based per JCF rules, not rating-based; 'Chunnu Munnu' naming removed.
